Stripe Squares Bday

I made two cards with squared backgrounds. This is the second card. Click here to see the first card. This time I painted lavender/purple watercolor stripes instead of solid colors.

For the sentiment, I die cut "happy birthday" three times using the pool/aqua color and glued them all together then hid underneath the real "happy birthday" die cut. You can see the color peeping out from the sides on the close-up.

I am playing along with Cupcake Inspirations the 400th Challenge Birthday with a Twist. They wanted us to combine a birthday theme project with a past Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. I am combining #400 with #262.

I am also playing along with The Card Concept #70 "Purple Haze". I was inspired by the purple and the aqua and made this card into the clean and graphic design.

Colorful Squares Bday

I made two birthday cards to celebrate Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #400. I painted simple squares using watercolor to create backgrounds for the cards. I then die cut "happy birthday" three times using white paper and glued them all together and hid under the real "happy birthday" die cut from the squared backgrounds. The squared backgrounds are so easy to make but so pretty.

This is the first card. Click here to see the second card. I painted the squares using colors from the challenge #362 cue card and some other colors.

Here is a close-up.

Green Heartfelt Thanks

Green is a color that is so outside of my comfort zone. BUT, I am willing to give it a try for the spring!!

I first painted the background with different shades of green watercolor then I sprayed the paper with alcohol. I like how the background turned out once it dried. For the sentiment, I used Paper Smooches's heartfelt thanks die. I added white dots using a white gel pen on the sentiment to make the sentiment pop a little more. I also added a vellum heart underneath. The tiny hearts dies are also from Paper Smooches.

Here is a close-up where you can see a little bit of the added green foam underneath the hearts. The hearts were colored using a glitter pen.

Hope you like the card. Thanks for visiting.

I am playing along the following challenges.
