Merry Hugs

Merry Christmas!

I have been playing with the cute doggy die set from Spellbinders. Oh! I had so much fun! Here are a few cards I made with this die set. I hope my friends who received these cards will like them. Which little doggy do you like the best?

Sketched Christmas Tree

It's hard not to like a clean and simple Christmas card! And I am in love with this one. I used the Sketched Evergreen Stamp Set from Altenew to make this pretty card. I stamped this gorgeous tree using VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed using gold embossing powder. I chose a big and bold cream sentiment and used a gold border on the right to finish up the card.

You Are Delightful

I love the colors from the Altenew November Inspiration so much that I just made another card using the colors again.

I used the flower and leaves from Altenew's Beautiful Heart Stamp Set. I only stamped the two layers for the flower and leaves and didn't stamp the outlines for them. I think it is more interesting without the outlines. The sentiment was form one of my favorite Altenew's stamp sets, the Inked Floral Stamp Set which has not only the beautiful big and bold flowers, but also lots of lovely sentiments.

Here is the card. Hope you like it. Thank you for visiting.

Crown Bloom Thankful

The beautiful flowers from Altenew's Crown Bloom Stamp Set are so much fun to play with. Here, I stamped and die cut two flowers and a couple of leaves using the colors from the Altenew November Inspiration. The spotted background was inked green with Halftone stencil also from Altenew.

Bamboo Rose Thank you

Hello, I made a thank you card using Altenew's Filament Rose Die Set. I love these big, bold and pretty roses. I first die cut the roses from white watercolor paper and water colored them using pink for the roses and yellow for the leaves. The navy background card base was stamped with Rustic Linen Stamp Set using navy ink.

Gorgeous Rose

It has been a busy summer! I finally got some time to make a card using Altenew's August inspiration challenge's gorgeous cue card and great color combination this month with my favorite colors!

Here is my card.

I used color pencils to color the big mega succulent from the Mega Succulent Stamp Set, but I like to color it with all the pink, purple, and magenta and the likes to make it a rose, my favorite flower. Isn't it gorgeous? The rose was stamped with antique linen distress ink so the lines can be hidden as much as possible after I colored it with colored pencils, but I can still see the lines here and there. Maybe I'll use a light pink ink instead next time.

Here is a close up.

The sentiment is from Happy Holidays Stamp Set. It is a great stamp set with lots of holiday sentiments, but I used the one says "wishing you lots of joy, love, and happiness" that I think can be used year round for lots of other occasions.

Needlework Grateful

Another thank you card was made. We can never have too many thank you cards to give out, right?

Using the inspiration challenge picture and the pretty Needlework Motif Stamp Set from Altenew, I made a simple CAS card. The Flower and leaves were very detailed and elegant, so I didn't use too many fancy embellishments here and only did a little shading with my watercolor to show off the detailed flower and leaves.

The sentiment was from Altenew's Story of Us stamp set, another favorite of mine.

Flowers For You

I made a floral card using Paper Smooches' Blossoming Buds stamp set. I heat embossed the flower clusters repeatedly and then I used watercolor to color them. A simple sentiment was chosen to finish up this card.

Cute Bunnies

I tried no line coloring after watching Kristina's tutorial. Her cards were so perfect, and mines were nowhere near hers, but I was still glad that I made this card following her tips. I think I definitely need more practice by making more cards like this one!

The two cute bunnies are from  Lawn Fawn's Upon A Star stamp set. I liked how the bunnies looking up the sky. I also liked the heart and the "I love you" message written among the stars. I am giving this card to my mom for Mother's day.

Here is close up. The two bunnies were fuzzy cut and foam taped to the card.

Colorful Flower

I made a spring card using the inspiration from the Altenew April Challenge with the Mega Succulent Stamp Set. These colors are not my usual color combination, but I liked it at the end. It was fun to step out of my comfort zone a bit. Thank you for the inspiration!

Ombre Mother's Day

Mother's day is coming. My friends and I have a moms' gathering early May every year before Mother's Day and I made cards for my friends every year. This year, I plan to make ombre cards for my dear friends.

I cut thin strips of different shads of pink and glued them together on a white cardstock. I then die cut the word happy from the ombre piece I glued together. I dried embossed a piece of a beige card stock as the background and stamped the other half of the sentiment on another pink strip. Two small hearts with foam tapes were added to finish the card.

Here are close ups.

I had fun making this card! OK! One card down! Six or Seven more to go! Hope my friends will be happy when they receive the cards. Happy Mother's Day!!

Lovely Spring Day

Spring is here! We had a lovely afternoon last Saturday. The temperature reached 70 degrees. Then the next day it went back to the 50s. Typical spring...

But we enjoyed last Saturday tremendously. What a lovely day to spend the afternoon in the park. I can't wait for spring to come!

Here is a card I made for the spring day. I used Altenew's Story of Us stamp set for the flowers and leaves with various pink and green inks. The sentiment is from Altenew's Inked Floral stamp set. Pink and green are definitely spring colors.

Thank you for visiting. Have a lovely day!

Rose Miss You

I love Altenew's card blog. I always get so inspired after visiting there. Today is no exception. After I saw this card made by Norine Borys, I just had to try the pen and ink technique.

This is my first attempt with Norine's layout and using the same stamp set. The end result was not as pretty as her cards, but I was still happy and felt like an artist!

I will try this technique again with other solid stamp set.

Purple Awesome

After finished making this card using Altenew's Antique Engravings Cover Die, I made another card with purple flowers. It was almost the same design except the different background and a different sentiment.

Here is a close up.

I love both cards. How about you?

Red Shimmer Thank You

I played with my new die from Altenew call Antique Engravings Cover Die and I had so much fun playing with it.

I first die cut a white cardstock using the cover die, and then I die cut red and orange cardstocks for the flowers. I stamped a lovely background using Altenew's Gradient Stripes Stamp Set on a green cardstock and glued the big one piece white die cut onto the background card.

I then glued all the pieces for the flowers onto the spaces where the flowers at. I only glued the flower pieces and left all the leaves as they were since they already showed green background from their openings. As a final step, I added shimmers onto the flowers.

A simple thank you sentiment was added with white heat embossing at the right lower corner.

Here are close ups. You can see the sparkles on the flowers.

I am very happy with the card! It is simple yet elegant.

Sweet Peas Thank You

I am sharing another card. This time I used Altenew Sweetest Peas Stamp Set. I used my favorite coloring method, watercoloring, to color the flowers and added a light gray wash around the flowers. The sentiment is from another stamp set, also from Altenew, called "Leaf Canopy".
